Hello

Welcome to El Abrigo Spanish Tutoring!

My name is Labri Wright and I am excited to help you on your journey to learn Spanish. I graduated from Flagler College with a double major in Spanish and Broadcast Communications. During my time at Flagler, I lived in Mexico and participated in a language immersion program where I taught English to kids living in an orphanage. The Spanish culture and people have impacted and influenced me for the better.

For the last 20 years, I have worked as an entertainer/performer in the Orlando theme parks and convention scenes. My jobs always allow me to work closely with native Spanish speakers and I know how important it is to know their language - especially in Florida!

During the hardships of 2020, my entertainment work disappeared and I found myself needing to make career adjustments. Since then I have been enjoying tutoring students in learning Spanish. I have worked with kids (as young as four years old) who are learning the language for the first time to adults who want to improve their Spanish communication skills.

Wherever you are in your Spanish speaking journey… I am here to help.

El Abrigo's Story

My name is Labri (la-BREE) and I have loved the Spanish language since the 6th grade when I was first required to take a foreign language. Until then, I had not seen my unique name in print. Then I read “el abrigo” in my Spanish textbook and noticed my name right there in the middle of it. In Spanish, el abrigo means “the coat”. My parents chose my name because in French, Labri (L'Abri) means “the shelter” and it was their prayer for me to be a protective, safe place for those in need. As an admirer of humor, including puns, I want you to know that just like coats and shelters, I have you “covered” in your Spanish language journey.
